Adoption In HaitiThe children are of African descent. Most of the children have dark skin, black hair and beautiful dark eyes. They are truly a beautiful race! Most available children are under age 3, but there are also many older children available as well. There are many sibling groups of 2 or 3 children available. While Haitian birth mothers love their children, adoption is often the only option for their children to have a chance to survive. Poverty has devastated Haiti and forced many overflowing orphanages to turn needy children away.
Current Requirements to Adopt The Haitian government has regulations adoptive families must meet, although often times there is flexibility in the law. In your research, you will notice that different agenecies and orphanage may have different requirements. This is normal. The below are typical requirements and current as off October 2007. The laws and rules change frequently.
