Recommended Reading and Training
Many agencies require a certain amount of training before approving your homestudy or sending your dossier. But there are far more reasons than "It's required." to learn! Take the opportunity you currently have to read-up on the latest a greatest adoption and child discoveries!
In addition to the resources provided below, you may want to call your local Department of Human Services (or equivalent). They are usually very helpful and anxious in providing training materials (including classes) for expectant mothers and families!
- Adoptive Families Magazine*
This is an AWESOME resource to pass the time, FILLED with information concerning ALL types of adoption.
- Online Training
Some, if not all, of these may count towards your required training (if applicable).
- Recommended Books
First and Second hand knowledge that these are some great books to learn for yourself or for your children to learn with you.
- Message Groups
Message groups are group you join and exchange emails with.
